Projects

Projects that the Bike Forum has been responsible for in the last 3 years:
  • Master Plan of Bike Infrastructures of the Region (now in stage of endorsement and approval by all stake holders).
  • Advertisement and sales campaign of biking in the region, and website and hardcopy maps with information for bikers on our region (being developed in the course of 2007).
  • During 2007 we are starting to plan find financing, and build mountain bike infrastructures at two specific areas (Britain Park and Sataf – Naham Ridge, as pilot plans for the implementation of our Master Plan.
  • February 2005, SRBC brought Joey Klein, IMBA Master Trail Builder, who gave a 3 day workshop on trail design, construction and maintenance.
  • September 2006, The Bike Forum brought Dafydd Davis, architect of system of MB trail in Wales, for a 3 day workshop on MB Infrastructure Planning and Bike Tourism. Both workshops left a very deep impact amongst all who are involved in trail planning and building.
We have successfully produced the following national-level events, with the purpose of locally and internationally promoting the region as a bike destination, and of making the decision makers of the region aware of the local potential of bike tourism:
  • 2005, 2006 (and planned for October 2007) Yehuda Circuit Yearly Mountain Bike Race
  • 2006 (and planned October 2007) yearly Tour de Beit Shemsh Road Bike Race
